Sweet Lou’s 2018 Goals

2017 has been an extremely trying year. As with any year, one must take the good with the bad.

Last year at this time I found out that I had Prostate Cancer. I got the news just before Christmas 2016. I had no idea what was in store for me in the next few months. Sure, there were a lot of procedures, but nothing was as horrible as the waiting. Knowing there was a growing cancer in my body and that there was nothing I could do? It’s not like you take a pill for a few days and you’re better?

In spite of all this, we launched The Gallagher Entertainment Network and a show called “Men Are So Smart!” This had been a dream of mine for quite some time. Where others talked a good game. I knew I was committed to my dream.

There were many stumbling blocks and a learning curve. It’s kinda like the first time you get in a car to drive and find it has a stick shift. You know how to drive. You know where you’re going. You just don’t know how to operate the car to get there?

I have been relentlessly dedicated to overcome said hurdles. Seeing a problem and finding some way around it. If I were to make any less of an effort, I wouldn’t be able to say I gave it everything I had.
So with a new year just around the corner, rather than resolutions, I have decided to make a list of my goals for 2018. Smarter people than me have said that writing them down make them more real and tangible.

Having said that, here are my personal and professional goals:

1. Find a better balance between work and family.
This is a fine line. I work a lot and must remember that my family is why I do this. If I work all day Saturday, Sunday will be spent at home with my kids and grandkids. A day of rest.

2. I will be even more aggressive in my marketing efforts. If that’s even possible? My goal is to have five or six advertisers to support the show. We have three now.

The Gallagher Entertainment Network is just that, a network. I would like to acquire several different shows that will be fun and informational and run on the network. I would like to see a minimum of 3 other shows. One has been confirmed and is in the works as we speak!

3.  We will continue to bring you a quality entertainment show called “Men Are So Smart!” We’ll strive to be even more topical, interesting, funny, and friendly. We’ll have interesting guests and insightful and funny interviews. I will continue to try and improve and hone my skills.

My number one “GET” in 2018 will be to have Mark S. Allen on with us!

4.  We will get to 10,000 views and over 100 new subscribers.

I don’t think these goals are too lofty. I believe if I say them, I WILL make them happen. I will let nothing stand in my way of achieving my dream! I invite you to come along with me on this journey!

But buckle up, it’s gonna be a bumpy ride!
