Here's What I Think!

I've I have always worn Sony headphones. I've been doing radio since 1984. In all that time, I've gone through 3 pairs. My first two pairs were Sony MDRV6. They lasted 28 years! headphone are to a radio/TV person as

There was a day in this business when Sennheiser was all the rage. I tried them. Tinny and cheap! Don't waste your time or money.

If your desire is to have the best possible reproduced sound, I recommend the New Sony MDR7506! They are comfortable, lightweight, and durable! At a price under $100, they are also a great buy!

These come equipped with a 9.8' cord and a gold plated plug with 1/4 inch adaptor! They have closed ear design for comfort and really good reduction of external noise. They are foldable and come with a bag, but I recommend that you buy the case below to protect them. You can get them here for a price of $99.99! (As of 6/26/17)

I also suggest that you get a hard case for them! This is the Caseling Hard Headphone Case in black. About $15.00? The two worst things that happen to headphones is the cord knots up or gets stretched! This should take care of that for the most part! (your mileage may vary of course!)

Thanks for reading my product review! These are what I use to do all of my media projects! I wouldn't steer you wrong!

At "Men are So Smart", we are always about science! Last Eclipse July 11th, 1991. Next eclipse August 21, 2017!

total solar eclipse will take place on Monday, August 21, 2017.
solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partly obscuring the image of the Sun for a viewer on Earth. A total solar eclipse occurs when the Moon's apparent diameter is larger than the Sun's, blocking all direct sunlight, turning day into darkness. Totality occurs in a narrow path across Earth's surface, with the partial solar eclipse visible over a surrounding region thousands of kilometers wide.
This eclipse is the 22nd of the 77 members of Saros series 145, the one that also produced the solar eclipse of August 11, 1999. Members of this series are increasing in duration. The longest eclipse in this series will occur on June 25, 2522 and last for 7 minutes and 12 seconds.
This eclipse will be the first total solar eclipse visible from the United States since the solar eclipse of July 11, 1991 (which was seen only from part of Hawaii), and the first visible from the contiguous United States since 1979.
The path of totality of the solar eclipse of February 26, 1979 passed only through the states of WashingtonOregonIdahoMontana, and North Dakota. Many visitors traveled to the Pacific Northwest to view the eclipse, since it was the last chance to view a total solar eclipse in the contiguous United States for almost four decades.

Some American scientists and interested amateurs seeking to experience a total eclipse participated in a four-day Atlantic Ocean cruise to view the solar eclipse of July 10, 1972 as it passed near Nova Scotia. Organizers of the cruise advertised in astronomical journals and in planetarium announcements emphasizing the lack of future U.S. total eclipses until this 2017 event.
The August 2017 eclipse will be the first with a path of totality crossing the USA's Pacific coast and Atlantic coast since 1918. Also, its path of totality makes landfall exclusively within the United States, making it the first such eclipse since the country's independence in 1776. (The path of totality of the eclipse of June 13, 1257, was the last to make landfall exclusively on lands currently part of the USA)
The path of this eclipse crosses the path of the upcoming total solar eclipse of April 8, 2024, with the intersection of the two paths being in southern Illinois in Makanda Township at Cedar Lake just south of Carbondale. A small land area, including the cities of Makanda, Carbondale, Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Paducah, Kentucky, will thus experience two total solar eclipses within a span of fewer than seven years.
The solar eclipse of August 12, 2045 will have a very similar path of totality over the USA, about 400 km (250 mi) to the southwest, also crossing the USA's Pacific coast and Atlantic coast; however, duration of totality will last over twice as long.
An eclipse of comparable length (up to 3 minutes 8 seconds) occurred over the contiguous United States on March 7, 1970 along the southeast US coast, from Florida to Virginia.

If your plan is to follow this rare occurance, you'll want a pair of glasses! Hell, why not make a party out of it!

Just some random thoughts… Shopping online is the only way to go!

I had dinner out with my wife at Red Lobster last week. I had an incredibly delicious Sam Adams Boston Lager Draft from the bar. It got me thinking.... "I need to have a keg at home!" So this week I'm shopping! Here are a few that I'm looking at. I'd love to have your feedback on any of these products. Comment if you would!

  • Nostalgia KRS2100 5.1 Cubic-Foot Full Size Kegorator Draft Beer Dispenser

  • Kegco Kegerator Digital Beer Keg Cooler Refrigerator - Dual Faucet - D System

  • EdgeStar Full Size Kegerator with Digital Display - Black and Stainless Steel

I finally broke down and purchased a weed Whacker last weekend. I ordered it online! I got really tired of being out of the gas mixture so I bought one with a litium battery. It's freakin awesome! It's made by Dewalt, so it's a quality tool. It's the Dewalt DCST920B Lithium Ion String Trimmer!

And please remember to use it safely!

A few weeks back I saw a car I just fell in love with! It's an AUdi R8. If you havent seen one yet, Here's a picture!

This comes with a V10 engine and the base price????? $156K or $175K for a convertible! Look for my GoFundMe page soon!

Are car thermometers really accurate? I get tired of seeing on Facebook that your car says it's 117 degrees. It's not. Your car's temp element is located by the front of your car and incorporates the heat of the engine and the ambient temp too.

Thanks for taking the time to read my Blog. Hope you've enjoyed! Below you'll find some of my other projects!

I Wish I Was Batman!

I was working this morning when I got the news that Adam West had died. My friend Shawn was checking his news feed and relayed the message to me. It made me very sad. I felt choked up?I had a show to do.

When I was a kid, there really were only two superheroes, George Reeves as Superman and then later Adam West as Batman. He was my Batman.

TVs Batman was all I knew. The campy, overacted series would never hold up against the C.G.I. of today's Batmen. But I guess it was enough for me. I watched as he and Robin "The Boy Wonder" would climb directly up the side of a building via rope without effort. (How did they do that?)

Whatever the situation or the villain, they always had just the right tool in their Utility Belt. If Batman didn't have it, you could count of Robin!

For most of my youth I grew up wanting to be just like my Batman. I had Batman PJ's with a cape. I would wear them out from in my yard and climb up the fire hydrant to jump off. I'd hold my cape out and say "Come on, Robin, to the Bat Cave! There's not a moment to lose! People would see me and freak out! Probably because I was seventeen?

And then there was The Batmobile! That thing had a switch for everything. Always some kind of new gadget.

Adam West was a hero of mine. He went on to do some acting but the type had been cast. His Simpson appearances were so well written and performed by him as a voice actor. Homer once cleared snow off Adam's house entrance with Homer's Mr. Plow truck. Holy atomic pile, Batman!

It is so sad that part of growing older is watching your heroes pass away. I will feel a sense of loss for a few days. I hope he lived a life of joy and happiness. Adam West, you will be missed.

I will always, as I did as a kid, check the night sky for your signal. Still wishing I was Batman!

Here’s What I Think… We don’t need weather people.

Their service to the world is only paralleled by Psychics?

How many times have you heard a weatherperson on TV say “That storm I told you was coming just missed us to the north.” So… you alerted us to something that didn’t happen? So… in other words, you were wrong at your job again? "No, I said it was coming and it didn't."

Are any of you reading this given the opportunity to be this bad at your job? When faced with an important decision, you have a 50/50 chance of getting it right? A flip of the proverbial coin perhaps?

Say you were a brain surgeon. And your success rate was 50/50. That would mean you would lose half of your patients? And that would be OK?

Now, I know that’s a little exaggerated but think of how many brides go through the stress of planning an outdoor wedding and counting on a clear forecast. Is a weatherperson’s correct forecast important to them?

I’ve lived in California almost all of my life. Though not a meteorologist, I can tell you more accurately what the forecast will be most every day. Mostly by looking out the window. Not really science. Don’t really need Doppler Radar.

Here’s my forecast if I was a weather person:

“Sunshine with some clouds and a slight breeze. Fifty percent chance of rain. Highs near normal for this time of the year!”

I don’t need a freakin' computer to tell me that? I didn’t even need a degree?

With those words I will be correct every single day in California.

Could I do it professionally? No, frankly have too much integrity. And besides, I’m not pretty to look at.

WD-40 Miracle Product/ Here's what I think!

The following is a list of uses for the miracle product WD-40. The product was first developed to displace water. Snopes set out to disprove many of these. The ones that have an asterisk in front of the number are the ones that the makers of WD-40 have verified as proper use.

Every garage should have a can of WD-40 or two! You'll find links where you can get your own can for the household! Get it shipped to the house right here!

https://www.target.com/p/wd-40-12oz-smart-straw/-/A-15242321#lnk=sametab

1. Try it on your stovetop.. Voila! It’s now shinier than it is ever been. You will be amazed.
2. Cleans shower doors! If yours is plastic, it works just as well as glass. It is a miracle!
*3. Protects silver from tarnishing.
*4. Removes road tar and grime from cars.
5. Cleans and lubricates guitar strings.
6. Gives floors that ‘just-waxed’ sheen without making it slippery.
7. Keeps flies off cows.
8. Restores and cleans chalkboards.
9. Removes lipstick stains.
*10. Loosens stubborn zippers.
*11. Untangles jewelry chains.
12. Removes stains from stainless steel sinks. Cleans the fronts of Stainless steel appliances (have personally seen the employees of Lowes use it on their appliances in the store to keep them new looking)
13. Removes dirt and grime from the barbecue grill.
*14. Keeps ceramic/terra cotta garden pots from oxidizing.
15. Removes tomato stains from clothing
16. Keeps glass shower doors free of water spots.
17. Camouflages scratches in ceramic and marble floors.
*18. Keeps scissors working smoothly.
*19. Lubricates noisy door hinges on vehicles and doors in homes.
20. Gives a children’s play gym slide a shine for a super fast slide.
*21. Lubricates gear shift and mower deck lever for ease of handling on riding mowers.
*22. Rids kid’s rocking chairs and swings of squeaky noises.
*23. Lubricates tracks in sticking home windows and makes them easier to open.
*24. Spraying an umbrella stem makes it easier to open and close.
25. Restores and cleans padded leather dashboards in vehicles, as well as vinyl bumpers.
*26. Restores and cleans roof racks on vehicles.
*27. Lubricates and stops squeaks in electric fans.
*28. Lubricates wheel sprockets on tricycles, wagons, and bicycles for easy handling.
29. Lubricates fan belts on washers and dryers and keeps them running smoothly.
*30. Keeps rust from forming on saws and saw blades, and other tools.
31. Removes splattered grease on stove.
32. Keeps bathroom mirror from fogging.
*33. Lubricates prosthetic limbs.
*34. Keeps pigeons off the balcony (they hate the smell).
*35. Removes all traces of duct tape.
36. Folks even spray it on their arms, hands, and knees to relieve Arthritis pain.
*37. Florida’s favorite use is: “cleans and removes love bugs from grills and bumpers.”
38. The favorite use in the state of New York — WD-40 protects the Statue of
Liberty from the elements.
39. WD-40 attracts fish. Spray a LITTLE on live bait or lures and you will be catching the big one in no time. Also, it is a lot cheaper than the chemical attractants that are made for just that purpose. Keep in mind though, using Some chemical laced baits or lures for fishing are not allowed in some states.
40. Use it for fire ant bites. It takes the sting away immediately and stops the itch.
41. WD-40 is great for removing crayon from walls. Spray on the mark and wipe with a clean rag.
42. Also, if you’ve discovered that your teenage daughter has washed and dried a tube of lipstick with a load of laundry, saturate the lipstick spots with WD-40 and re-wash. Presto! Lipstick is gone!
*43. If you sprayed WD-40 on the distributor cap, it would displace the moisture and allow the car to start.
*44. It removes black scuff marks from the kitchen floor! Use WD-40 for those nasty tar and scuff marks on flooring. It doesn’t seem to harm the finish and you won’t have to scrub nearly as hard to get them off. Just remember to open some windows if you have a lot of marks.
*45. Bug guts will eat away the finish on your car if not removed quickly! Use WD-40!

Car Care Gift Ideas and Recomendations for Father's Day 2017

I'm one of those car guys that takes a lot of pleasure from keeping my car clean! Right down to even the smallest door jam. I use a two bucket system though my partner Corvette Ronnie uses three.

    My Dog: Clean and Green!

    Here's what I think!

I am pretty brand loyal. I like products that do what they say they are going to do. Once I find something that works, I stay with it. That's not to say that I won't try something new. It does remind me of a story.

Years ago, I was working for the now long gone Kragen Auto Parts, when Simple Green came onto the scene. They had a sales rep come out to talk with us about all the amazing things it could do! He was very enthusiastic too! "This snake oil will clean anything and it's safe for the environment. It's so safe... you can wash your dog with it and it kills fleas!"

    Take my money right now!

At that time, I had the best dog I've ever had. His name was Mr. Thurmon Munson and he was a really large Golden Retriever. If you know anything about me at all, you know I love a great scientific 'speriment! So, one a warm summer day, I decided to put it to the test.

I washed him thoroughly. He loved the cold water and was very appreciative. Seemed to work well as I was doing it. We were out on the lawn but it seemed like the fleas hated it? Then the time came to rinse off the beautiful blond beast.

Wait? What? The dog was green! It seemed the more I rinsed, the greener he got? Clean and green! He was a little self-conscious for about a month? I tried to keep him away from mirrors?

Thank you so much for reading! I'd love to have you like and comment if you are so inclined!

I’ve never been fond of tattoos.

I’ve never been fond of tattoos. Growing up in a Polish Catholic family, they were always frowned upon. The only people I knew with tattoos were sailors.
There’s really always been a double standard with tattoos for men and women. Even today. Guys are thought to be more of the bad boy type if they have a sleeve going all the way up their arm. Women do it too. Though theirs are usually much more ladylike.
I guess it depends on what kind of a household you grew up in? To each his own. I do not find them attractive on women. I prefer a more feminine woman. “Well, what if it’s covered up and not seen under clothing” Nope.

I’m not sure what the big deal is about shooting indelible ink under your skin? The reason that people born from 1945–1965 have high rates of hepatitis C is not completely understood. Most baby boomers are believed to have become infected in the 1960s through the 1980s when transmission of hepatitis C was highest. Hepatitis C is primarily spread through contact with blood from an infected person. Baby boomers could have gotten infected from medical equipment or procedures before universal precautions and infection control procedures were adopted. Now I know that drug use in the 60’s was rampant, but not all of those people were injecting heroin.

So why then the sudden resurgence in tattoos? Not sure. Statistics show that an overt amount of visible tattoos can keep you from being hired in some career fields. That tattoo that’s referred to as a “Tramp Stamp,” who is that for? Certainly not the person with the tat? They can’t even see it unless looking in a mirror?

What about tattoos of your current lover’s name? Divorce rates in this recyclable relationship world hover at or around 50%. If you have the name “Richard” tattooed on your buttocks, you might want to plan on only dating guys named Richard for the rest of your life?

That “cool” Mom who had the Butterfly tattooed on her right breast at age 28, might find that as a Grandma of 60, that her tat has now shifted downward around her bellybutton!

You love them? That’s awesome! Enjoy them! Get as many as you want! They’re not for this guy though. Tattoos have always been a deal breaker.

    Check this story out! http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/texas-man-dies-after-swimming-with-new-tattoo/ar-BBCalRD?li=BBnbcA1

60th Birthday Thoughts It’s not hard to reflect on one’s life on their 60 th birthday. Didn’t think I’d make it to 30 let alone 60? ...
